Whether it’s incorporation or contracts, we know many cooperatives have a variety of legal questions and needs. On Wednesday October 20th, NYC NOWC and the CUNY Community Economic Development Clinic invite you to an opportunity for 20 minute pro-bono meetings with lawyers to ask these questions. After these short meetings, the clinic will either provide full representation or refer you to those who can support your group.
This opportunity is free and available for up to 16 worker cooperatives that are based in NYC. Cooperatives should assign no more than 3 individuals to represent them during the intake meeting. The lawyers will not be able to provide advice on business plans during these intakes. Sessions are available during the following 20 minute time slots:
- 6:30 – 6:50
- 7:00 – 7:20
- 7:30 – 7:50
- 8:00 – 8:20
We are prioritizing Black, Indigenous, and People of Color-led cooperatives. If you are BIPOC, please register as soon as possible. If you do not identify as a BIPOC led cooperative, please sign up on this wait list, and we will be in touch with you by 10/17 if we have remaining time slots. Simultaneous translation will be available in English and Spanish. Reach tammy@nycworker.coop if you have any questions.
