On Tuesday September 17th — Advocacy Council and members of NYC NoWC staff hosted “Building a Worker Cooperative Policy Platform for NYC.” At NYC NoWC, we have been dedicated to building a people-powered policy platform that would enable worker cooperative futures. Thanks to the work and research of Advocacy Council and partners, this was a teach in on the identified prioritized areas that will be centered in the city-level policy platform– which includes demands for direct financing, space, education and training and procurement opportunities for worker coops . Overall, the goal of the platform is to provide a guide to current elected officials for what is needed in order to support and strengthen existing and future worker cooperatives in NYC.
Before we publish this platform early 2021 — please make sure to offer your feedback through this survey. Have any questions about the policy platform? Please reach advocacy@nycworker.coop
