In past two years, NYC NOWC has experienced dramatic changes, due in no small part, to the tireless work of its founding members, board of directors and staff. Today, the vision of a membership-driven trade association that advances democratic ownership and better working conditions for worker coops in NYC is closer at hand. In 2015 NYC NOWC’s Board of Directors laid the foundations for NYC NOWC to onboard its first paid dedicated staff, increasing our capacity to provide regular programming, expand member benefits, ensure democratic participation, and collaboratively draft an advocacy agenda.
In this two year report, we review all the work we’ve accomplished for our membership and strengthen the cooperative movement in New York City. Featured within it is NYC NOWC’s Profit & Loss for Fiscal Years 2016-17 and detailed reports about programming, membership, direct services, advocacy, partnerships, and highlights of the past two years. The Spanish edition will be released shortly.
