The NYC Network of Worker Coops, (NYCNOWC), as the trade association for worker-cooperatives in our city, has convened a Training Collective. We are 14 cooperative professionals with over 200 years of collective experience in cooperative membership, training, management, and development in cooperatives and support organizations. Our goal is to teach and promote best practices from our experiences to businesses and start-ups to those who want to work according to cooperative principles.
Through these workshops, you will learn best practices for cooperative finances, management and incorporation. You will walk away with better tools to strengthen your existing cooperative, turn your business into a cooperative or start a new one.
The workshops include:
Introduction to Cooperatives
Building a New Economy - A basic framework
Business Model Canvas - A business plan on one page
Basic Financial Projections
Facilitation and Democratic Decision Making
Governance and Management for cooperatives
Understanding Basic Cooperative Finances
Forming a Legal Entity
